Apart from its cinematographic, literary, political and criminal activities, the Institute Drahomira ordered "the creation of musical ensemble composed of some of the most prominent members of Politburo". The exact date of this event is still unknown for today. However, signs of its activities can be found in the middle 80's, although the appellation of "DSO (Drahomira Song Orchestra)" has never been mentioned anywhere before the recent edition of their works (see below).

Karlsbad (CZ) - July 1982
Indeed, in some "authorized spheres", a polemic soon appeared concerning the mysterious circulation of "musical kids" (or "musi-kinder") between different embassies of some Central European countries (according to Ferdinand S., a retired parliamentary attaché). The hypothesis of connections with the Institute was then propounded, though only few people could understand what the whole affair was actually refering to. Considering the fact, that the major part of the Institute's activities (of any kind), at that time, was more than ever clandestine, and taking into account the close relationships that the Institute have always maintained with Czech Republic and its nearby countries, we can let ourselves suppose that the denomination of "musi-kinder" was actually used as a code-term to designate the obscure machinations of the DSO members on the internationnal level. This hypothesis is even more increased by the title of the DSO's second album...

Live performances by phone.

Since then, magnetic tapes, micro-cassettes and cassettes have been circulating confidentially and very few people could actually claim having heard a DSO musical piece. Some pretend that live performances were retransmitted on telephone and recorded miles away from there. Since none of those recordings have ever been found, we cannot prove the exactitude of these facts.

By now, about 26 albums are available on CD-R. But, as no label produce and distribute the Institute's recordings yet, you'll have to enter in contact with us in order to obtain your copies. See the contact section.
